Welcome, This website was
created to provide information about Rotax engines with rotary valve
that where used during the 70’s, 80’s and 90's by various motorcycles
manufacturers. These manufacturers understood the quality and the
potential of this Austrian made engine. Unfortunately, technology
moved on and the possibility that we will ever see a new rotary
valve engine in a motorcycle on road or track is
to be neglected. This website is mainly about enduro and motorcross bikes, because that was the main application for these
engines. A lot of manufactures also fabricated road, trial, racing
and military bikes with these engines. Karts where also
equipped with this power source.
Because i get a lot of requests for Rotax 256 tandemtwin (and
luckily own one myself), i plan to include more information
